Lamictal for migraine prevention

Hi, anyone take lamictal (lamotrigine) for migraine prevention? My neurolgist just prescribed it but I am scared to take it because it has some pretty awful side effects - especially a possibly "life threatining skin rash". Anyone have experience taking this med. I was rx'd 25 mg daily for 2 weeks, then increase to 50 mg daily. I get mild to moderate migraines 5-6 times a week that respond well to Frova or Treximet but I want to reduce the frequency. Most of mine begin early AM - 4-6 AM or late afternoon 4-5 PM. I have been on 1800 mg gabapentin daily for the past year and was doing well but now the frequency is back up. I take a total of 1800mg Gabapentin. So my Dr wants to change preventatives. Any advice would be appreciated. I cvant seem to bring myself to take a lamictal! I go back to my neurologist in a week. Thanks!

I tried lamictal but it didn't help, I didn't experience and crazy side effects
either. You can ask him about Topamax, I'm on that now.
