    Lyrica Class II Recall

Pfizer sent a letter to its retailers and doctors initiating a recall. The recall was initiated because some Lyrica capsules in the affected lots may be deformed or damaged. This is a class II recall, which means that it isn’t necessary to notify you unless your doctor believes it may have an effect on your health. Your doctor is in the best position to assist you with this recall.

The deformed capsules can affect the integrity of the medication in those capsules, which means they could lose some of the active ingredient. The Class II recall was initiated by Pfizer voluntarily. If you use Lyrica, please check the lot numbers listed below and seek out your prescribing doctors input as to whether you need to get your Lyrica replaced.

The recalled Lyrica includes 50 mg capsules in 90-count bottles, Lot #M07861 and with an expiration date of 5/31/2018.

Two lots of 75 mg capsules in 90-count bottles are also being recalled. Their lot numbers are #M07862 and #M07865, with expiration dates of 5/31/2018 and 6/30/2018. The affected lots of Lyrica were recalled by the manufacturer on January 14, 2016. These lots started shipping in September 2015, so if you have leftover medication from before that date, yours would not be affected.
