    Sudden hearing loss

My hearing, already assisted by hearing aids really got compromised suddenly. I got up, got a bit of a head rush slightly lightheaded, sat down and noticed a sort of swimmers earon right side. Sounds clicky and really distorted, like Alvin and the chipmunks. Chalked it up to wax. Went to see doctor, "we don't see you without appoinment", went to walk in clinic to have it removed....nothing there. Audiologist tested confirmed hearing loss (Hello!) get your doc to set up appt. with specialist waited 3 days, yes, specialist will see you in another 3 days. Great, once there berated me somewhat for waiting so long to see him,(see above!!!) this is 8 days after incident occured. Put me on a severe regimen of anti viral and steroid pills witch after completion of 160 pills in total add up to no improvement at all. Need to go back and the option offered is a steroid injection to the ear drum.....sounds scary. Anyone has any experience with this treatment?
