    Atenolol for high heart rate

Is anyone familiar with this medication? Started on it back on July 16th for my HR which loves to go up 30-40 beats when I get up and moving.
Recently I just had to increase the dose to 25 mg morning and night. It seemed like it was wearing off after 12 hours once a day. Has anyone had that happened? They mentioned possibly switching me to metropol if it doesnít work. Iím not sure if itís anxiety or what but my HR seems to still be all over the place. I feel like crap 24/7. My palpitations are still very much there. ANYTHING I do that might cause even the tiniest anxiety or fear it goes out of control and I get tingly and shaky. Iím on an event monitor now for 30 days but what else can I do here ? Iíve been checked for everything so far and was told my heart is beautiful. Iím not sure if my high HR is caused by another med Iím on or what but all
I know is in scared out of my mind. Iím trying to tell myself to let the medication work but it feels like I canít even go to the store without it going up. Any advice ?

Re: Atenolol for high heart rate

Atenolol once a day didn't keep my heart rate as low as it needed to be, nor did it prevent irregular beats in the second half of the day. So my doc had me add an extra 50 mg in the evening and that did the trick.
