Dilatation of the descending thoracic aorta

I did a CT scan and was found " Dilatation of the descending thoracic aorta ( 2.7X 2.9 cm)suggesting hypertension unchanged" , actually I don't have high blood pressure right now , my history of the blood pressure is about 128/80 , but I am 69 years old, my doctor wants me to see a cardiologist , I like to know how about my currently status, is it slight or middle ? Should I have to do a Echocardiography immediately ?

Thanks.

Re: Dilatation of the descending thoracic aorta

My question right now is ,

My current blood pressure is 113/78 only ( I am using Lisinopril 2.5mg /day)
if I don't use the LIsinopril, I believe the blood pressure is still under normal area, but why the CT scan said " suggesting hypertension unchanged".

thanks.
