Could it still be a heart problem?

Have been having ongoing chest pain for the last few months - have had repeated EKGs, running stress test, blood work and chest xrays - everything comes back normal. Dr. did an ultrasound looking for fluid on the heart or lungs (she said it wasn't a full echo, but similar) and again everything fine. My problems are just continuing to get worse - not better - over time.

Waiting to see a cardiologist, but everything is on hold due to lockdowns in Ontario. Wondering if anyone has had all the above tests come back clear, and it still ended up being a cardiac problem? Wondering what else to expect the cardiologist to look for that I haven't already been tested for?

    Thanks in advance.

What kind of "chest pain?" There can be many reasons that have nothing to do with your heart.

It has been a variety of things - sometimes it is a tight squeezing sensation - sometimes on the left side, sometimes on the right side of my chest - like someone is in there squeezing my insides tightly (not enough to be crushing - but enough to be extremely, extremely uncomfortable).

But the main thing has been the heaviness - feeling like I have an elephant sitting on my chest at all times - from morning to night. Again, it is not a crushing "i can't breath" feeling, but it is a constant heaviness at all times.

Neither of these issues have I ever experienced before.

Are you on any medications...if so, what?

nothing for heart - I take remeron to sleep and thats it (have been on it for years with no issues)

I've recently started a bunch of heartburn medication as my doctor thinks it could be heartburn even though I don't have any signs of heartburn aside from chest pain (and none of these drugs have helped - I'm only getting worse).

hadn't thought of that - doctor is currently exploring it being a GERD issue (waiting on an endoscopy), but will go down the asthma route if things continue to come back negative. thanks!
