Question Please Help!!

I would really appreciate any feed back...

For a long time now I have had these weird feelings in my chest. I can usually notice them more at night because that is when I am all curled up and I can kind of feel it better. It's really hard to explain but sometimes it feels like my heart just skips a beat and I know this sounds really odd but it takes my breath away. The "skipping of a beat" only happens once at a time, and probably atleast a few times a day. Although I am young (21) there are known heart issues within my family of origin. I hate to be picky sounding because more than likely it is nothing (?) but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Re: Please Help!!

Sounds like you are having palpitations which is bascily a skipped or dealyed beat. They are not life threatining but you should schedule a visit with your regular doctor and get a checkup and let him know whats going on. Don't concentrate on it too much , try to keep your mind occupied on something else. Don't need to cause yourself any unnecessary anxiety over it. I'm 21 and went thru the same thing just recently except I had alot of anxiety on top of it.

Also you can read this thread which explains alot about it:

Re: Please Help!!

of course get it checked out but then, if they say your ok, check out anxiety boards too. Awful, but heart problems are somehow mimiked by anxiety.
