    Unhappy Everyday heart palpitations HELP!

I'm 15 years old and I just now started having heart palpitations this year in September.
They happen like everyday and I usually feel like I'm out of breath, I get sharp chest pain, my heart beats really fast, I get tired, nausea, headaches, and I also get really dizzy.
I don't drink alot of soda, I only drink water when I'm at home, and I drink coke or sweet tea when I'm in a restarant, so I don't really get much caffeine at all.
My parents smoke and I've been stressed out lately, would that have anything to do with my constant heart palpitations?
My dad and my brother have a lot of palpitations too, are heart palpitations hereditary?
I haven't been to the doctor yet because I my family doesn't really have the money right now, but I should be going sometime soon.
I'm worried because there might be something serious behind all these heart palpitations.
Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong with me and whetheir or not I should really go to the doctor?
And thanks in advance to those who reply, I'm really worried about this.

Hi, I recently started having heart palpitations too. The ones I'm getting constantly is a pounding and forceful sensation of my heart rather than skipped beats etc., typical of most people. Is that what you mean?

I'm not a doctor, but from what I'm reading on-line, the majority of palpitations are harmless and/or treatable. I'm currently on medication for mine. Check with a GP though.

Yeah, I get that same feeling and my heart beats fast. So yes, that is what I mean. What type of medication do you take? I'll probably go to have to go to the doctor soon to have them prescribe me something because it happens every day, and it's really a pain in the butt.

I had those for years, all the years I was married that is.. Not to say marriage is bad, I had a terrible marriage with much stress. As soon as my bad marriage ended and I got out from under the constant stress the heart palpitations ended. Could yours be stress related?

Mine was. Haven't had a problem since the stressful time following the divorce.

    Best of luck to you.

I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, but I mentioned the palpitations to my doctor and he prescribed 50mg of Atenolol for the HBP, but the medication also quietens down the pounding of my heart as beta blockers do.

I reckon my heart pounding was brought on by stress or anxiety because mine only started after I was diagnosed with HBP. I don't know why, but it really shocked me and yet I hear of some people taking news like that in their stride. I have an underlying anxiety anyway, so I suppose it wouldn't take much to scare me.

Good luck and go see your doctor.
