Hey, Doll. Hang in there and GET YOUR THYROID CHECKED ASAP!! That could be the root of this. And if it is, the fix is a lot simpler than a heart replacement.

Good luck and God bless you.

It's possible that you're just an anxiety sufferer. I've been one since about 5th grade, am 21 now, and it's always been about heart related health stuff. You're 17, which is very young for a bad heart.
(Recent Years: At night my heart would
stop all of a sudden, and I would have to rush
to eat food or drink water and such to stay
away from a "doom like feeling".)
THIS sounds like anxiety. If your heart really stopped, rushing and eating would not help at all...and Doom like feelings are what I get when having a panic attack, which I usually freak out about having a heart attack, and consistantly check my pulse.

Anxiety can cause some serious side affects, expecially if you suffer from panic attacks which you seem to have had. Also, have you had an EKG? If you haven't, its a good test to see whether you have had a heart attack in the past, or to at least make sure that you're heart is running fine now. So, check out anxiety symptoms, and I wish you luck!

Oh...I agree with kittyroo, thyroid test would be good. Thyroid problems can cause some crazy symptoms, but is highly treatable. You should get a blood screening for thyroid problems, and possibly electrolyte/chemical balances in your bloodstream, which all could be done with one test.

    Symptoms
    - squeezing of heart
    - slowness of heartbeat
    - wake up at night
    - panic attacks
    - lung collapse - breathe
    - muscle mass

Past Years: Normal days, I would be depressed
and finding my heart at such a low rate every day..
Recent Years: At night my heart would
stop all of a sudden, and I would have to rush
to eat food or drink water and such to stay
away from a "doom like feeling".
Recent Week: The last experience was my heart
slowing down it nearly stopped, and that's when I woke
up, I felt like a nearly died, (I wasn't stressed at
all during the day that's the thing that scares me)
Scariest Experience: At a hospital stay, where I
was on a low content lipids diet, because of that,
my heart was beating so low, I felt like I was in a
coma, I had lost consciousness at that hour or so.

    Who can I contact?
What can I consider in changing my heart?

I agree, it sounds like an anxiety disorder babe. I too had some anorexic issues when I was your age. It was for a short time, but since then I haven't eaten that much a day, til recent years. One meal a day most other years. Still, I know of lots of people that eat that way.

Anyway, I am on Inderal now, a beta blocker heart med for anxiety and heart rate issues. I wonder if I have to take it now for my heart or if it's just anxiety. I have had panic attacks since age 7 but back then, nobody knew what they were, so I suffered as a child.........and then into adulthood. I am 38 now.

The heart is a very strong organ. Very! And though so many things can be wrong, the chances of you having those problems at your age, are so rare and I just would be shocked. I would highly suggest having some tests ran first before writing your will. EKG, or wear one of those heart monitors around for 24 hours and see for sure. Don't suffer in silence though, talk to your parents or someone you trust to help you.

I hope you are eating now. If you are in the hospital for those things, you might have some nutritional issues. Vitamins....magnesium.....potassium (bananas), b6 for well being, fish oil (omega 3's). And as a last resort, Xanax for you to calm down from a doctor, for anxiety.

But don't assume you are dying yet. I understand though. The body stuff is so scary. I am there with you on that!

    Re: Help, Heart's Slowly Dying

    Thanx for the support
I've checked my thyroid and EKG a couple of months ago
strangely they're bth fine. and thankfully
I've called my doctor and if it becomes serious well at least its known
I might have overreacted to how damaged my heart has become

till then I'll be on a low-fat diet.
it'll be the only control I have in my hands

Not really, JaG. Bradycardia is commonly associated with anorexia nervosa. It might be due to simply very low body weight. So if you gain some weight, your heart rate might very well come up. Ironically, eating more and gaining weight is the control that you do have. Good luck
