i have been posting on this site for a few months now...initially when i started, i was waiting to meet with a specialist about the palpatations that i had been having for some time now. until i became pregnant my second son, i had never had any problems with my heart, but quickly after finding out i was expecting, i noticed some funny flutters in my chest. i ignored them at first and passed them off as nervousness or something, but when my heart rate started to speed up on occasion, i knew that something was not right. i have struggled with high blood pressure from about the same time frame but now know that the two, in my case, are unrelated. after dealing with the doctors who thought i was nuts or had anxiety, i was finally hooked to a holter moniter and was validated in my claim. thus leading to meeting with the specialist. after numerous tests they have deemed that i have Lown ganong levine syndrome. a syndrome in which there is an extra accessory pathway that can cause rapid heart rate and is characterized by a shortened
pr interval.it is in the same family as wolff parkinson white syndrome, but it does not have the delta waves that are noted in wpw. furthermore,. i also found out that people who have this syndrome are generally asymptomatic until late teens or early twenties, i am 24. everything lines up perfectly and i feel satisfied in knowing...it feels so good to be validated, --a little scary to know that i have it and could pass it to my sons...but it has relieved me to know that i am now seeing someone who is monitoring my condition and treating me with a medication that meets my needs. so far the meds are working and i am hoping to avoid catheter ablation. i would love to talk to someone who has the same problems or diagnosis that i do, --i can read about it all day long, but living it is a different story....if someone could give me tips and advice that may help me in my future that would be great. anything helps...
