Cardiomyopathy Question

I have Hypotrophic Cardiomyopathy with a defib/pacer implanted....I at times have ALOT of chest pain, for while I go to the ER and am usually admitted not for bad blood workups but pain control...some docs tell me i shouldnt have chestpain with this and some say its common...some docs I feel think im just a drug seeker which really pis%es me off because THAT is the least of my problems...

Anyone else have this and have chest pain that goes along with it? I cant remember my last echo that said what my injection fraction sorry i cant help in that way. Thanks in advance.

Re: Cardiomyopathy Question

Hi twiz,

I believe you mean hypertrophic. You should have an echo to determine if your heart's wall is impeding the normal filling capacity and/or if the cardiac output is reduced by less than normal contractility. With either or both conditions the cardiac output is reduced and can be the underlying cause of your symptoms.

Also, it seems there should be a blood workup after an event if within the several hour timeframe.
