I'm new to this site so I hope everyone who posted about PVC's sees this. I have had problems with my heart for 20 yrs. It all came to a head last summer with lots of other problems. The most dramatic were the over 58,000 pvc's in a 24 hour period. I was having chest pains and out of breath. After years of cardiologist, it was my massage therapist who finally diagnosed me correctly. I had an over active thyroid.

Your thyroid controls everything in your body. If you have a weakness, such as your heart, the thyroid can make things much worse.

I am still having pvc's but nothing like they were. Exercise makes you feel better because it speeds up your heart and helps balance out the pvc's.

I still need to find a doctor that can help me with them.

Re: PVC's
Greetings NJHemily! Welcome to the healthboards. :) The thyroid needs the right amount of iodine too much may speed up the heart. Of course some is in salt. Too low can cause health problems also. An endocrinologist might be someone to see for this.

The heart can also have problems if there is too little or too much water in the body. The vast majority of people probably forget to drink the proper amount of water and are a bit dehydrated at times. Some beverages such as coffee, chocolate, alcohol, sweet drinks or things with artificial ingredients may also cause difficulties. Of course everyone is responsible for their own health care decisions. :D Peace, sjb
