Hello All, I'm new to this site and have a question. Has anyone ever had a cardiac Ablation. I have been experiencing a fast rate for quite some time and the meds are not working anymore. My dr. thinks an ablation should be done and has scheduled it for the end of this month. I am petrified. Has anyone had this done? if so please help me. Scared and nervous as to what to expect during and after the procedure. Thanks in advance.

Re: Ablation
I'm 20yrs old and had an ablation done three days ago. It was a bit scary but really not too bad. They gave me something to "take the edge off" which made me calm but I was still completely aware of what was going on. The only things that were very painful were the local freezing in my legs and at the end when they pull out the tube they used to put the cathadars in. The tube coming out was a lot of pressure on my leg so it didn't actually hurt, just was very uncomfortable. My procedure took 4 1/2 hours but they can often take more than 5. I don't really know what else you want to know about it, but let me know if you have any questions and maybe I can answer them for you. :)
