Constant skipped heart beats

I have constant skipped heart beats. I can't seem to find a pattern to it. It will goes days without happening and then some times for days in a row. It has been happening for about 9 months off and on. I have had ekg, nuclear stress test, echocardiogram, and multiple blood test. The doctor said everything is good and just told me I need to exercise more. Is anyone else going through this? Its terrifying.

Re: Constant skipped heart beats

The reason they give you the echocardiogram if you have palpitations/skipped beats/arrythmia/tachycardia is to see if it is related to a problem with your heart valves or heart muscle - things like mitral valve prolapse and cardiomyopathy. The fact that it was normal shows that it is not related to his conditions, which is good

However, the second route cardiologists take is to find out whether or not it is related to the electrical system in your heart

The problem with EKG is that it only detects issues with the heart rate if you're having these skipped beats while they are performing the test

The best way to assess why these skipped beats are occurring is to give you a holter monitor that you wear all day. When you have a skipped beat, it gets recorded onto a portable EKG device

I can see for myself that I have skipped beats every once in a while, and my doctor said they are PVCs related to anxiety. They are harmless. Let's hope that's what you are experiencing
