blood pressure doesn't change
I am taking metoprolol for 4 months now. I take 37 mg per day.
The reason why I take it is to reduce the heart rate and to reduce heart pounding.
I have noticed that my blood pressure hasn't changed compared to before taking.
It hovers around
Systolic = 121
Diastolic = 78

Is that normal? I'm thinking that my body has adjusted and increased my blood pressure to where it is suppose to be.

My heart rate use to be around 95 and now it is 80. It's good.

Re: blood pressure doesn't change
That makes sense. You are on a low dosage and your bp is pretty good anyway. Probably not going to go down much. Did your doc want your bp lower or just your heart rate? I take another beta blocker (much higher dose) and it really slows my heart but doesn't do much for my bp.

Re: blood pressure doesn't change
He prescribed it to reduce the heart rate only. It helps with the pounding a little. In the beginning, I was worried it would reduce my blood pressure too much and I would feel week in the morning so I avoided taking a pill after 8 PM.
