Hiatal Hernia and left quadrant pain

I was interested in a closed post about pain under the left rib cage. I have had this for years and several doctors have given different answers: We don't know what causes this but a lot of people have it; It is gas; it is muscular-skeletal. I'm not buying any of those explanations. It feels as though something (large bowel?) is being strangled. It passes but I have to adjust my posture and sometimes press on this area. I was diagnosed with hiatal hernal about 10 years ago and am just trying to go off Nexium for the Gerd. Will try Pepcid to see if it will help the rebound.
