Acid Reflux and Hiatal Hernias
Hi. Just a quick question for those of you that may know the answer to this. Do you think if a person had acid reflux and or a hiatal hernia it would cause rib pain? My doctor felt my rib pains would improve if I kept regular bowel habits. I do seem to be fairly regular yet I still get the rib pains and don't know why. I was told it was excess gas in the colon, but do you think acid reflux or a hiatal hernia would cause this. I also get up sometimes with pain in my chest but know it isn't anything cardiac. I am pretty sure chest pains that aren't caused by cardiac problems can happen with acid reflux. Sometimes I get heartburn, but I wouldn't say it is a horrible problem. I had a friend that ended up in the ER with chest pains only to be told it was acid reflux after cardiac tests were done and then an endoscopy. I just don't know a lot of people who have rib pain and have tried to do some research on it without finding a lot of information.

Try supplementation with digestive enzymes, thats what I did and it helped a lot. You can get them at any health food store. Look for Enzymatic therapy, they make some good products. It will help, trust me. I also take prilosec 40 mg a day.
