Groin Pain

I'm a 52 year old and three years ago I was doing some work building a deck. while working my upper left inside leg/groin started to hurt really bad when I get up from a chair. I could hardly put any wieght on it then when I try to walk it would hurt for about 8 to 10 feet then it would stop. Then after a few months it would just come and go. but now after three years it's getting to hurt more othen but slightly less pain.
I go for a ultersound this wednesday my doctor thinks I have a hernia. But I don't think I do. I think I have a pulled muscle. Does anyone ever had this happen to them? thanks for any input.

Re: Groin Pain

If it turns out to not be a hernia, it's very possible to be a bad groin pull. I know pulling a muscle in this area can be difficult to heal, and perhaps it flares up easily depending on your activity. Does it feel all muscular or any sign of nerve pain? I know ilioinguinal nerve involvement can be a challenge as well, as common to take a while to improve. Three years is a long time though, so hopefully they can get you some answers on what might help!
