Do I really have Herpes?Did I contacted it long time ago?
I was together with a Exbf (my 1st bf) for 5 years. Back in 4/09/2015; I tested for Herpes 2. Pathlab Herpes 2 IgG results: 0.6 (Negative <9.0;Positive>11.0)
But we broke off. And I was with a new BF this year (2016). And we had our first time intercourse with each other on 23/03/2016; while I was on my period. Around 4/5 days later, I was so sore and ulcers/ blisters (not sure which right term) with pus pop here and there around my genital area and very painful urination.
- ulcers/blisters doesnt hurt when touch except if squeeze like pimples; hurts when urinated over it
See a Gynecologist on 27/03/2016 and was given antiviral and antiobiotic as he said it could be herpes or staph infection. Long story short, 1.5 weeks later it all cure up and did a blood test on 08/04/2016.
Got my result today (18/04/2016).
Gribbles Herpes type 2 IgG 1.3 (Negative < 0.9; Positive >1.1)
According to the Gynecologist, he said most likely I contacted herpes long time ago.
I'm confused.
-Does this mean I didnt get herpes from my current bf (first intercourse together on 23/03/2016)?
- but from my ex of 5 years? But if thats true, how come my result was negative back in 4/09/2015?
- Why the difference in both Pathlab and Gribbles blood test results? Pathlab negative is <9.0; while Gribbles is >1.1. They both are testing IgG. But why the difference in value?
