I might have it but I don't see how!

I have a bump on the lip of my vagina, and I've had it for about a week. It is painful, sometimes I itch too, but just sometimes at night. Every once in a while I'll get one, but it won't hurt. My ex-boyfriend got tested and he didn't have anything. My new boyfriend is in the army, and he got tested before he went in and he didn't have anything, and he is the only person I've had sex with since my ex, which was like a year and a half ago. Could it be anything else besides Herpes! Please help me!

Dear Abby (sorry I couldn't resist!) LOL!!

I was just catching up on reading recent posts and saw yours. I have HSV-2. What you described sounds a little like something else I've experienced. Every once in a while, I get a small hard feeling bump on one of my lips of my vagina. It can be kinda sore, but not terribly. It would itch a little. I knew it was different than my HSV-2.

Well, I eventually had the bump present at the same time I saw my gyn. He examined it and assured me it was nothing serious. I told him I get them from time to time. He said as long as it does go away it shouldn't cause any problems. Sorry, but I can't remember the medical term he called it...I believe it was some type of cyst.

This may be what you're experiencing, but it would be wise to have a doctor look at it to be sure. They can swab the area while its present and do blood work to be sure (if you haven't may have and I just forgot if it was in your post).
