High range in BP readings. But why?
My Dad is 81 and has been in the hospital a couple times recently because of blood pressure readings being over 200. They don't seem to want him to go there anymore because they never come up with a cause, and are at a loss to do so.
He's been home for a couple weeks now and has a blood pressure monitor that he uses each day to keep an eye on how his BP is doing. But sometimes he'll get a reading in the 190s, and then as low as 102 about an hour later.
Is this something to be concerned about? Does anyone have any idea how it can fluctuate so wildly like that, and whether or not it's a sign of something serious?
