Diovan versus Micardis - Which do you like?

I am currently taking Micardis HCT 40/12.5. It's working very well for me, though I believe I have some sinus trouble from it. Anyway, I am considering a switch to Diovan because Micardis is not on my insurance company's formulary. Can anyone offer experiences with Diovan, or a switch from Micardis to Diovan?

The only other ARB I've taken is Benicar. It made me sick as a dog. Micardis, on the other hand, has been tolerable.

I was on Cozaar and was switched to Diovan (insurance formulary problem). I haven't had any trouble with it. My bp is doing well, but I'm also on Atenolol.

Thank you kindly for your reply. I was a little worried because the Benicar had made me ill, while the Micardis worked. I just hope that the Diovan works for me.

I am now on Diovan 80mg. I don't know whether it's controlling my blood pressure yet, but so far, I am not having side effects.

After 4 days of BP checks, the Diovan 80mg is doing a nice job. I am pretty happy.

Diovan 40mg. is pretty tolerable for me. I think it may be causing vivid dreams, but nothing like atenolol did.

I am seriously impressed with this medication. My average BP for the last three weeks is 124/77.
