Sure, any of the beta-blockers can and DO cause impotence, loss of libido and listlessness. The impotence is the usual reason why men discontinue the drug class.
It's almost a universal symptom.

Viagra and a PUMP!

Easier and cheaper to quit the drugs. Try the thiazide+ARB (cozaar, hyzaar, diovan)....best combo I've found. Still no bed of roses.

I've been on atenolol about the same time but only on 50mg per day. Plus many other medicines including maxide for B/P. Had pretty much the same problems your husband had. Thought the atenolol might be responsible for another problem I had and asked the Doctor to start trying other medicines. Eventually he had me cut my atenolol to 25mg per day and take a Lotrel 10/20 capsul once a day. Worked better for my blood pressure so we tried dropping the other 25mg of atenolol and just taking the Lotrel. B/P went to about 140/80 and was pretty consistant every day. Just went off the atenolol less than a month ago but I do believe my sex drive is coming back. Worked for me, might not for your husband.
