"Normal" blood pressure???

Here's a question for you.

As an embarassingly thin teenager, my blood pressure averaged 100/110 over like 60.

Now that I'm 32 (and if you read my other post about working for a defense contractor), it has shot up to 150/80. I am also 6 inches taller and almost 90 lbs heaver (currently 6'2", 205), and I study kung fu and tai chi.

My blood pressure was measured at 132/68 (?) yesterday, and the doctor complimented me on being "normal". I thought for sure that was too high, what gives?

Re: "Normal" blood pressure???

The numbers your dr. got were fine. Anything below 140/90 is considered normal. When do you get the 150 readings, is it after a stressful day or something? To get a true reading you should take it everday, usually 3 times a day, at the same time each day. Make sure your not under stress at the time. If you get good readings, then it just might be your getting the high one's during work time, or after a lousy day at work. Loseing a few lbs. will definitely help keep it lower also, and if your a salt user, cut back. Take care, and good luck!! <IMG SRC=""> JJ
