Question Young and skinny Highblood pressure?

Ok so I have highbloodpressure I'm 20 and weigh about 153
    fluctuates between 145-160

so I have been having SERIOUS bouts of brainfog since September 19th of 2009
and panic attacks from time to time

but recently (within the past 4 months) i've has SERIOUS issues breathing feels like massive air hunger. And random panic attacks (rapid heart rate)
I got a new primary finaly and expressed my symptoms
my first BP reading upon being addressed was 190/110
    (hasent been that high since)
later on (15 min later) it came down to 160/100
    still Way way too high.
    He diagnoseded me possible anxiety
amd put me on. A low dose metropolol 25mg
I take it regulaty and it seems to work but I still get massive spikes in my BP anywhere from 130/80 to 180/100 pulse shoots up as well to about the
90-110bpm range my normal bpm seems to be 59-70
sometimes lower than 59 but rare.

    My question is
is this underlying secondary hypertension??? I'm very worryed about an anyurism or some rare heart condishion that they wouldn't normaly check.
I've been to the ER 3 times in the past 4 months with dizzyness , rapid heartrate, chest pains , tightness in chest.
And the bad brainfog witch I have on a daily basis.

My extremitys also are always cold (hands and feet)
I've made a self diagonsis on that as having poor blood circulation.

Thankyou for any help you might have it's MASSIVLEY APPRISHIATED!!!! :]

But about my high BP / fluctuating Heartrate?

But about my high BP / fluctuating Heartrate?
It sounds like you have anxiety issues. Are these attacks psychogenic? If so, perhaps you could improve your BP by improving any underlying psychological issues that might trigger these anxiety attacks.

If that isnt your issue, then perhaps a workup for secondary causes is warranted. The common conditions that are ruled out are coarctation of the aorta, renal artery stenosis, and hormonal causes (adrenal, etc).

However, note that despite your age and body weight, the development of hypertension in the absence of these secondary conditions is not uncommon. I developed essential htn at 20 as well.

I note you complain of cold limbs. This is due to/worsened by the metoprolol. A very common side effect, but not an issue unless you find it excessively problematic.

Re: Young and skinny Highblood pressure?

    Ugh this isn't anxiety!!!
    I'm 100% sure
    I've read everything on anxiety
I AlWAYS have massive air hunger AlWAYS feel like I'm going to passout my heart makes systolic clicks it sounds like and my pulse can range from low 50 to 120 in a matter of minutes is t that a little weird?
I purposely try to make myself distracted to not feel bad but there is no way I will start feeling like **** when I'm doing something I love! Don't you find that a little odd? And the matter of fact that it's been a recent onset (besides the brainfog)
    isn't a little strange?

Re: Young and skinny Highblood pressure?

Its difficult for me to comment further based merely on what you describe.

BTW, you stated that you take your metoprolol "regularly". Inconsistecy with taking this med will cause increased heart rate, feeling of anxiousness after skipped doses.

Re: Young and skinny Highblood pressure?

But I don't skip doses. I know that u need to take it regularly even if ure bp is normal.

Ok well then I guess what I should say is wht about the massive air hunger and chest pains
and the constant fluctuating Bp and pulse even after my medication has been taken

I would find a good nephrologist and cardiologist to do a thorough work-up for any secondary causes. If all results are negative...this does sound like anxiety as much as you may not believe so.

It may not be! Get checked, you will feel better just knowing that you have been evaluated properly.

"Air hunger," chest pains, and fluctuating BP and pulse are not uncommon with anxiety. As a mater of fact, if I exercise before taking my daily Klonopin I experience these symptoms often...after my medication, not so much.
