Blood pressure cuff is too big

I've tried so many blood pressure monitors but the cuff is too big on every one of them. They pop off when they inflate. If I hold it down it stays on. Would this interfere with getting an accurate reading?

Re: Blood pressure cuff is too big

Yes, blood pressure cuffs come in several sizes, from tiny ones for babies to huge ones for lumberjacks.

The cuffs are usually have a universal plug that fits on all machines. I would either contact the manufacturer of your machine for a smaller cuff, or perhaps a medical supply store will have them in stock.

You do want the cuff to fit snuggly at the crook of your elbow, with the tube placed over your vein in your arm, your arm relaxed and supported at heart level, feet flat on floor and no talking during the testing.

Just make sure everything fits together, you have fresh batteries and you relax before taking your BP.
