    Stop taking testosterone

I am a 59 yr. old male and a disabled Veteran. I have been taking Testosterone for the past 15 years every 2 weeks. My doctor took me off of it on June 4th because my red blood count was too high. My body doesn't produce Testosterone anymore because of Hemochromatosis, which is a blood disease which produces too much iron in my blood.
What will happen to me now that I don't take it anymore? How bad will it get? Are there any alternatives to Testosterone?

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Re: Stop taking testosterone

When I went off testosterone injections for the same reason I went through a withdrawal!!! It was bad, I wasn't hungry and had a hard time forcing myself to eat, got very little sleep and lost a lot of weight until my body got back to normal which took about a month. I'm sure everyone is different and I hope you don't go through that. The doctor who made me get off did not tell me I would be going through all this but said I would feel the way I used to before going on T. He wanted me to come back in a month and then try some alternative T. Let me know.

There is a vitamin supplement can't remember the name of it. Check with your local vitamin store. It's not hormones. Cathy

Would it be Tongkat Ali? Or would it be zinc?
