severe hypochondria

i have had a severe panic disorder for about 6 years now. well i am now 22 <WEEKS> pregnant and every since i have been pregnant i have developed severe hypochondria. i am constantly living in fear that something horrible is going to happen to me. im always dizzy from so much anxiety. everytime one little thing on me doesnt feel right i start to have a panic attack. its taking over my life. does anyone else have hypochondria? how have you learned to deal with it? i am so desperate for help. i just want to feel normal again.

Are you taking any medication?

An SSRI could be a big help, and att his stage of the pregenency, would be safe.

A short course of a benzodiazepine tranquiliser (Valium, Xanax etc) for a week or so might help you get a grip on things while waiting for the SSRI to kick in

i was on meds but they took me off when i got preg. i was on lexapro which really didnt help much and i had xanax but it can cause the babys heart to become irregular and fail. i dont wanna take that chance that he would be born with a problem that i could have prevented. you should NEVER take xanax while pregnant its really dangerous

i have severe hypochondria also since i was 14, i am now 21. It went away for a while then came back I don't really know how to get rid of it, i have not been to a physciatrist or anything, i just try to fight it by trying to push it away with different thoughts which is not the best way but physchiatric help is expensive these days. you are definitely not alone here, there are people with the same issues, like me i have been getting more dizzy every day due to all the anxiety pressure on me, not eating, sleeping just thinking of the worst. Just keep trying to think of something or see your doctor for further information on how to calm yourself
