    Best time to take Premarin?????

Is there a best time to take my Premarin? (I'm 6 weeks post op full laparoscopic hysty). Or is it trial and error -- depends on individual? Also, can it cause weight gain?

    Hi Twell,

My dr. gave me Premarin in the hospital. I take it every a.m. and am glad that I have it.

I am 55 and had a full abdominal hysterectomy. Everything, but my vagina is gone. I was on hormones before my operation, so the meds. did not seem to bother me at all. In fact, I would probably be bonkers without them.

I had a hyst. because of vaginal and bladder prolaspes.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response! I guess I was mainly interested in an optimum time of day. But, you said you take yours in the a.m. Sounds like that is working well for you. I take mine in the a.m. That way if I forget, I still have the rest of the day to remember.

I've just been having a bear of a time trying to take off some weight. I'm on several new meds, plus a B complex vitamin. So any of that (not to mention menopause itself can be playing a part.) Part of me expects to be 100% back to normal already, because I feel so good. But I guess I"m really only 7 weeks post op and there are a b'zillion things going on inside my body. I had everything taken out.

    Thanks again

    Hi Twells,

I am 3 months post op and am still tired. It does take a while for your insides to sort themselves out and you will feel uncomfortable in different places for a while. I have my Rheumatoid Arthritis pain pills and muscle relaxers (lite) and I use a rice sock and heating pad, when I hurt.

Just give it time. My hormones seem to be just write, even tho my husband thinks I need more!!!

Take care and dont push yourself too hard.

i used to take my premarin with my evening meal because it was the one meal i was sure to eat in the day. i kept the bottle on the table where i sat so i wouldnt forget lol..now i make sure i take my vitamins etc in the morning when i have my toast and hot chocolate. its become a routine for me and so far i havnt forgotten any days. i do mornings so my B12 kicks in and i can get thru the day with some energy.
