Severe Uterine Prolapse and cystocele - Pessary or Hysterectomy?

I have a severely prolapsed bladder and vagina with cystoceles. My uterus has dropped to just 3 cm above the vaginal opening. I am only 36 yo. I met with the surgeon Thursday. They have no clue what caused this as my only child was born 3 months early, only weighing 1 lb 12 oz. Anyway, he is recommending Hysterectomy, keeping the ovaries and cervix in tact as long as they are ok. Of course this is because I walked in saying I did not want a Pessary. Of course, now I am second guessing myself. What are your experiences with either the Pessary or Hysterectomy?

P.S. I also will be having a Colon Resection for Rectal Prolapse at the same time. And I will have a rectocele repair in a few month.
