Lumbar Puncture Report Results, What Doctor?

Does anyone know what specialty doctor could read a Lumbar Puncture report? The ordering doctor (Neurologist) did not have a clue, it did not show MS that was all he was looking for. But he did say I definitely had something wrong me according to the report. I then showed it to my primary doctor and he said that is not his area of expertise that is why he sent me to a specialist. I told him the specialist said there was definitely something wrong, he said that is just great we already knew that, we just didn't know what it was. I feel like one of the Three Stooges' going around in circles. I have been through so many tests in the past few years but getting no where.

Elevated CSF Protein levels
Elevated CSF % Seg
Elevated CSF % Lymph
Low Angio Convert Enz levels
Low Anion Gap levels
Low IgG/Alb Index levels
Low Immunoglobulin levels

Also other reports showed:

Elevated Sed Rate levels
Elevated CK

Muscle biopsy showed Myositis.

Re: Lumbar Puncture Report Results, What Doctor?

so sorry you are having all this. My future daughter in law works at the labs at the local Hospital. So she explained to me one thing and than my GP agreed to it: all depends what is % of elevation or % of "low". Some Dr can look at same results and one says you are fine and another one says you have problems.

I had spinal tab for MS also; my Neurologist ordered and he got my reports back. Dr who ordered it for you has to get your results; if not - call the Hospital where it was performed and ask where exactly the copy of the report was send.

Spinal tab shows MS - the most accurate test. Rather than MS it can show some other auto-immune conditions. Like I said all depends how high is high and how low is low since they have some percentage is acceptable for the results.
This is just my 2 cents, hope it will help a bit.
Best wishes to you, dear heart

Re: Lumbar Puncture Report Results, What Doctor?

Molda, thanks for the information it does help. Yes I have the reports I got them immediately when they became available. My problem is the doctor was only interested in seeing if I had MS it didn't show up so he does not want to get involved with any other issues that showed up in the test. I tried to get him to explain what these high's and low's mean and he wouldn't. All he would say is you definitely have something wrong with you, I just don't know what it is.
