Incontinence anyone?

Since all of this started, I have had trouble holding my urine. I stand up after going and then go a little more on myself, or I just suddenly find that I am wet. I keep poise pads in business. Once, I even peed on the floor. Then, yesterday, it got really, really bad and is still awful this morning. I am going through super extra large pads like crazy and just stay wet. Has anyone else who has a lyme diagnosis had a really bad problem with this?

Re: Incontinence anyone?

Yes, I have had this problem for years and after going through all the tests from specialists for over a year and just before going into surgery to "correct the intermittent but nothing obviously grossly abnormal problem", I checked my journals and found that this incontinence of urine was when I also was having Lyme LLMD said it's "certainly possible" as the Lyme does irritate the bladder. It's terrible to have to protect against the leaking and flowing (especially when it's an unprepared time at the beginning of the worst period) and living with pads day and night is depressing, but I haven't found anything else and doctors don't have any better answers yet in my experience. Just keeping up with the washing and rinsing is the pits!!!

Oh I so sympathize. I wear the pads all the time. I should buy stock in the P (son't think I can name it here) company. They aren't very romantic either, are they?

Oh Lizzie! You are so not alone. I have had 5 children and never had this problem before until recently. I have to wipe and then stand up with more tissue ready to catch anything and wait a minute before pulling my underpants up. I haven't really had too many problems leaking after leaving the ladies room, but one day I did get upset at my kids...and when I raised my voice (which I shouldn't have done, even though they were upstairs and I was downstairs) I had an accident. I did many kegel exercises after the last baby, so I know it's not because of child #5. Needless to say, it is awful to feel out of control of our bodies like this. Hang in there! My husband jokes and tells me that he ought to buy me diapers!!!! He is always joking about things trying to make me laugh. He came down with Lyme symptoms earlier this year and we think I gave it to him. My whole family is sick now, so we are all taking the things that Dr. Jernigan says will help. I feel pretty good these days. Have a nice day!
