    Sleeping & Growth Spurts

Do babies sleep more right before, during, or after a growth spurt? (DS is 10wks)

I find DD sleeps more after. It's like she's just so pooped from a few days of constant eating that she just conks out.

For us, DD slept a little more during the spurts (not a lot more)...but I would say she slept harder during sleep.

I could never tell a spurt was about to happen until it was on. When the spurt ended, it was done and back to the usual business.

    Re: Sleeping & Growth Spurts

I'm not really sure if DS is going through a growth spurt or not. We were out of town so obviously he was out of routine and gone from our home. We were in FL and its a lot hotter there so that may have made him more tired. Now today that we are home he has been nursing a lot. But it could very well be comfort nursing. But it could also bea growth spurt possibly. He is close to a typical growth spurt age. His fussiness (that is seemingly like is hunger cues) could also be from gas or from discomfort from the plane flights. So who knows! But I would love for him to be going through his spurt now instead of in a couple of weeks - because we will be moving in a couple weeks.

My baby sleeps the days away once she has finishe a growth spurt. It seems she just eats and eats ans then all of a sudden she wants to sleep all the time. That is pretty nornal baby behaviour.
