How long does it take the swollen lymph nodes to go away?

I had mono/glandular fever two months ago and feel that I've recovered..my LHD was high at the time (seems normal now), and my monospot test was positive. However, my lymph nodes are still swollen, and not just those in the neck..those in the groin and armpits come and go constantly, whilst those in the neck are there all the time. They were soo painful!!! Has anyone had swollen and/or painful lymph nodes after mono for quite a while??? I've had the swollen lymph nodes for about 4 months (think I had mono for a while before I was diagnosed, though!). My CBC/FBC is normal, so is ESR, etc.

I can't speak to mono per se, but when I get lymph nodes swollen from illness, they often stay swollen well after my other symptoms are gone. I wouldn't be too worried yet.

Thanks! That's quite reassuring..even though mine seem to be suddenly painful and seem to be growing..hmm..will see how it goes.

Well, I had mono when I was 14 and I still have one lymph node in my neck that never went all the way down. It's not nearly as big as it was then but still bigger than normal and I'm 39 now! It is also the first to swell and get painful whenever I'm coming down with anything.

Thanks, that's rather reassuring!! Although it wasn't painful when I was ill..and now it's suddenly really really painful. Hmm, maybe it'll go away soon..
