recurring staph infections

Let me first start by saying that I sympathize with all of you with recurring staff infections as I suffer through the same thing. I am just looking for some answers. My problem started in 2007 when I contracted cellulitis in my breast mine was so bad they did surgery to remove the infection and I was told had I not had the surgery in 24 hours it would be in my bloodstream and 48hrs I would have died. since that time I again in 2009 had a boil under my arm it turned out to be mrsa. I went to the ER and they lanced it and I followed up with my physician as told. Well, I ended up in the Drs. office every other day and them finding more deeper and deeper under my arm after a week of this my Dr. sent me to a surgeon and the following day he did surgery and removed the infection along with my sweat glands. I have continued since this time to off and on having green discharge from my nipples and they test the discharge say it is staff and give me antibiotics. Ever since my first bout with this in 2007 I have felt lethargic, tired and weak and the longer this has gone on the worse I seem to feel. I have had chills with it at times but no fever except initially in 2007. I am diabetic and have been told I have a suppressed immune system. I left my job at the end of 2009 because on top of the infections I have developed neuropathy from my diabetes and the meds I take for this has caused from extreme constipation to extreme diaharrea and the meds also cause me to fall asleep at various times of the day so I don't feel safe driving. I can't work because of this as I have no warning when the diaharrea hits. I both wake up and go to bed feeling exhausted. I have noticed though it still reoccurs that since I left my job which was in a retail environment that though the infections return more frequently they don't seem to be as severe. I again have staph and this is my second round of the antibiotic cipro and they sent me to a surgeon yesterday but all he said is staph can hide in your body and reoccur. he told me there was no test to see why it is returning and pretty much they can't tell me if this will reoccur or not. What I would like to know is what I can do to prevent this from reoccuring especially since I am an insulin and medication type I dependent diabetic and all this seems to mess up my sugar as well. Anybody have any suggestion or help it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: recurring staph infections

Did you get antibiotics?

Perhaps you need 2 of the MRSA antibiotics to take together.

Have your tried probiotics, manuka honey, garlic, bleach baths, garlic baths?

Mupiricin or Bactroban?
