possible MRSA infection

Hi! My name is Jennifer. I usually post on the back problems board. Back in march I developed a staph infection in a surgical incision on my lower back. I was in the hospital a little over a week, then on home iv therapy for 4 weeks. I went to the infectious disease doctor on Friday because my lower back and incision are quite painful. Not the usual back pain. He believes I could have developed MRSA infection. He had me do blood cultures and several other blood tests. I am also having a MRI of my lower back on Wednesday. How does one deal with this diagnoses. Will I be admitted into the hospital if I have it? Any advice on this situation is greatly appreciated.

Yikes! I'm really sorry that happened to you, jen! MRSA, and the prevention thereof happens to be a passion of mine because i contracted it late 2006. I got it so bad in fact that i wasn't expecting to live very long into '07 considering how fast it was chewing through my leg. I tried a pile of antibiotics but stopped short of injecting the newest straight into my heart cuz i would likely not have survived due to a pre-existing condition. Anyhow, long long gruesome story short, I chose to try the natural approach as a last ditch effort and its what actually ended up saving my life. The stuff is called Allimed and it is a natural antibiotic derived from garlic. It succeeded where thousands of dollars of caustic, synthetic antibiotics failed because it killed the MRSA bacteria in a way it couldn't defend against. Best of luck!
