Premature Ovarian Failure (23 yo)

Hi all,

I wasn't sure where to post this, but after meeting with three specialists yesterday it was confirmed that I have premature ovarian failure. I will likely never have another period (next month will be a full year without them) and I will never have children with my own DNA.

Some facts:
-I am a single, unmarried, healthy, 23 year old with no children
-I have had countless blood draws and 2 ultrasounds
-My ovaries are 1cm big (should be around 4cm)
-My FSH was at 78 (should be around or under 10)
-I do not have fragile x syndrome
-Next tests ordered are for autoimmune (adrenal & pituitary) and keryotype

Has anybody gone through this? I am devastated and feel really alone in this. My friends are currently pregnant, and I heard that this happens to maybe 1% of females under 40.

Premature ovarian failure is a condition of loss of normal function of your ovaries before age 40. There are no proper treatments for this. If you want to be pregnant you can try In vitro fertilization (IVF). Hope this may helps you. Good luck.
