    Makes me feel alone

2.5years ago, I developed horrible balance, lightheaded, and anxiety problems. I have had them all this time with no relief. I can't stand/walk without feeling I'm going to fall if I don't have something to hold on to. My family is not helping because they think I'm just imagining my problem.
I originally thought it was an inner ear problem, but the ENT (2yrs ago) did nothing but look in my ears and refwrred me to a heart specialist -.- I was diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder. So for 2yrs, I believed anxiety caused my balance problem. It never went away.
Now, I'm recovering from an ear infection that really threw my balance and lightheaded feelings in a worse direction. This made me believe that maybe I have had an inner ear problem all this time and need someone to actually run tests. I'm only 29 and cannot function normally like this. I don't want to be in this situation. I want to work a job and finish university. I see an ear doc tomorrow as my first step towards answers. Please give me some encouraging words. I feel as if I'm the only person in the world with this problem.

    Re: Makes me feel alone

Well it sounds like you're on the right path and hopefully the war doctor will get to the bottom of this for you. It definitely sounds like it could be an ear issue or possibly vertigo, but i would not take the diagnosis of anxiety either. Its frustrating to be told its just anxiety, many doctors go that route when they can't figure things out and you gave sone anxiety issues. So, I'm glad to hear that you'll see a specialist and again i hope they can help. Good luck!
