Relapse after 10 years ... why?
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone else has suffered a relapse after having their inner ear issue under control for a long time? About 13 years ago, after getting a virus that attacked my inner ear, I ended up with damage and received a diagnosis of Endolymphatic Hydrops. My specialist put me on a diuretic and I did physical therapy. I was horribly sick for awhile with near constant vertigo, balance issues, dizziness and weird head sensations. But after those therapies I started to improve and eventually came off my diuretic to live a normal life (only experiencing a small vertigo attack maybe 1-2 a year if that- probably less).
All of a sudden it has come back after nearly a decade of relief at the age of 46. Here are some of the variables I can think of that could be affecting it:
*perimenopause
*worsened allergies (also a byproduct of peimenopause)
*a recent stressful trip to NY (although I have flown before and been fine)
*stress at home (difficulty with one of my children and a daughter who has health problems)
Have any of you experienced relapse like this?
Thanks & best wishes to everyone suffering with this disease
