botox for MAV??

just curious if any of your docs have mentioned anything about trying botox for migraines. i've read some research and have heard it many times about botox being helpful for migraines. just wondering what ya'lls thoughts were on this, and if it has been mentioned by your docs.

i'm curious if it would help, and in my case, would it maybe help with the crazy vision somehow by "blocking' weird signals or something>??????

any thougths!?

Hi Alexi

There was a article in Scientific American Mind a few months back---3rd/4th Qtr---about Botox being used at the R&D level for tinnitus(results not avail yet)---other then that---have heard nothing.

hi subs! thanks for answering my microbiology professor mentioned it while discussing botulism as means of treating migraine now. also, a friend of mine works at a plastic surgeons office and mentioned it--went to his website, and it did state about improving migraine...so hmmmm.

i have an appt with the surgeon at the end of the month to laser a vein above my lip, so i will be discussing this further and requesting research from him...if not sooner by my specialist--i have my followup appt for "mav" this coming monday--finallY!

Re: botox for MAV??

Funny. I started to look that up just a few days ago because I could have sworn that I heard/read that somewhere.

Didn't get anywhere with my search...... something came up, I think. Going to have to look into it again once things calm down a bit.

But! I'm glad you brought this up. At least I know that I didn't just make this up.
