making great progress!!

hey guys. after a month of migraine meds and 3 weeks of steady VRT im doing better!! not sure if its the meds or the VRT but don't really care at this point.

i find that doing the excersies they get easier everyday. the constant floor moving is gone for the most part. the best part for me is just noticing improvement. its just knowing im doing the right thing that makes all the diffrence. i hope to continue to improver and i hope that everyone else is getiing well also!!

i will continue to log my progress

Re: making great progress!!

Hi,

My symptoms include the floor moving, can't sit without the feeling like on a boat.
What exercises are you doing and what meds are you taking.

Thanks

hey man. im taking migraine meds because migraines are shown to slow down recovery. the excersises that stopped the constant floor moving were ones like standing with one foot in front of the other with eyes closed and open and marching in place. anything to get your brain used to the movement. also alot of eye excersises while moving your head and focusing on a target.

i also spent time during the day walking on my tip toes.

D&R YIPPY! Way to go!!!

I am doing the same. I just went back to the specialist...going to bump up to 20mgs. He said that it is a great sign that you are noticing change at a low dose! YIPPY!
I think we are making it!

are you really sleepy with that dose? i am upping mine to 40mgs this sat night, go 2 weeks, then to 50mg, 2 weeks--then 60mg. i've started taking them about 3 months ago...and no real change yet. so maybe upping the dose will help me?!?! i just don't want to be anymore zombiefied lol! glad you're doing well with them..any weird side effects at that dose? i've just get hot easily, fast heart rate, and moodiness...which he said if it gets bad that he'd take me off of them. HA! can't win either way it doesn't seem sometimes

well...we'll have to keep eachother updated! charlotte, i'm glad you're doing well with them...hope your stomach issues settle down soon too!

Re: making great progress!!

well it made me sleepy for about 3 days and then that was it. im not even 100% sure that it is MAV but im taking it just to make sure.

im more concentrating on my VRT. the ground moving part is going away fast. which is nice. i still have a hard time with my eyes. for example i can't throw a ball back and forth for very long. however i can do it for longer than i could before.

im making the VRT harder as i go so its hard to tell if im feeling better or if i just feel lousy because i made the VRT harder.

Joni how did you do with stuff like throwing a ball or playing sports??

C&R,

>>>im taking migraine meds because migraines are shown to slow down recovery.

If migraine is now the root cause of your dizziness, it's not slowing your recovery - it's the main cause of your problem. Remove the migraine and the rest will go too. Sounds like any compensation you needed was probably sorted a long time ago (like me). Now it's just vestibular migraine activity causing the hassle. It sounds very much like the med you are taking is working which is great news.

Best ... Scott

I'm glad you're feeling so well! I adjusted to ball activities really quickly because of my job. I'm a PT and work with kids, so from the beginning of my illness I was still doing lots of tossing balls back and forth. I don't really play any sports, more individual things, like running and yoga. I would actually feel really good running, but when I stopped is when the symptoms would be strong. But I usually bounced back really quickly.

Re: making great progress!!

cool thanks guys

yeah the vrt seems to be working. i can do alittle more each day. im not sure if its the meds or if its the VRT

my problem is that i never stuck with the VRT. i would do it for a couple days and then stop.

joni...ver much like you it almost feels kinda good when im doing the excerises and then when im done it sets in. then slowly lifts.

my main problem is when i move my head to fast. that throw me off so bad.

Scott...thanks for the info. i went down the MAV route because my mom has bad headaches and i would get them as a kid sometimes. i mainly put my problem still down to always putting off my VRT and not allowing my body to compensate because when i actually work on stuff it gets easier with time. and not within weeks but almost seems like days.

i just like knowing that if its MAV im taking meds for it and if its uncompensated neuritis that im doing VRT. im going to nail this thing from both sides.
