Anyone with Vestibular neuritis have tinnitus?

Just wondering if anybody else out there who was diagnosed with vestibular neuritis has tinnitus? If you do do you have it in both ears?

Do any of you have hyperacusis?

I was diagnosed with VN but I am worried I have Menieres but I dont have hearing loss and I've had all kinds of testing and was still diagnosed with VN and not Menieres... anybody have any insight??

Yes! However, mine has 95% gone away. How long have you had the tinnitus? I was hit with VN on 2/2/2010. After several week of hell, I started gradually feeling better. In early April, I started getting the ringing in both ears and feeling light headed with headaches. I honestly thought I had a tumor or something. My VN was in my right ear, but the tinnitus was bi-lateral (both ears). I had an MRI as well as an ECG to test for Meniere's. I was clean on both fronts. Remember, Menier's happens in only one ear and is almost alway accompanied with hearing loss. Anyways, my tinnitus started to subside after 2-3 weeks and now is almost completely gone. I also have constant ear-fullness. Do you? I finally saw a really good specialist who diagnosed me with new onset chronic daily tension headaches, which he believes started as a "side-effect" of the VN. Apparently, this is fairly typical. The good news is that your tinnitus will probably go away soon. I recommned you get an ECG to test for Meniere's, even though you probably don't have it it's always good to rule it out. The tension headaches are a bear, but slowly getting better. Are you also having headaches? This could be what's causing your tinnitus, which is probably due to the headaches since you have it in both ears. Are you seeing a neurologist? Be caseful about what they might prescribe. If it's related to the VN, it's probably NOT migraines, which is what my first neurologist diagnosed me with. They put me on effexor (anti-depressant), which was the WRONG med. You might want to look into Gabapentin. It is mild, and not an reuptake inhibitor (anti-depressant). It has been very effective with little or no side effects. I hope you correspond, as it sounds like your situation is very similar to mine. Last are your other VN symptoms? Are you still experiencing eye nystagmus and/or serious balance issues? Good luck and stay in touch.
