Chinese Medicine for eustachian tube dysfunction

Just wanted to see if anybody has tried this? I visited a chinese doctor over a year ago regarding my ear issues and was told that I had too much 'dampness' which in short causes things to swell (amongst other things).

I was told to avoid cold foods such as salad but particularly dairy and ice cream. It made sense to me as I was a huge cold milk lover; having it every morning with cereal and I'd also drink glasses of it during the day. I could be wrong but I think many western doctors advise to avoid too much dairy for ENT issues.

I was prescribed a course of Chinese herbs but to be honest I couldnít afford to pay for it every week so I decided to go away and research the issue of dampness and try to adjust my diet to try to help the problem. I have porridge (with almond milk) for my breakfast now and soup for my lunch. I try to avoid anything cold but in summer sometimes only a cold drink will do! I have noticed an definite improvement in the year or so that I have been doing this, the ear doesnít feel as full and exercising isnít a problem anymore. In the past I would have to stop regularly to try to relieve pressure by the valsalva technique.

Just want to put this out there in the hope that it could help; I know how frustrating this problem is and Iíd love it if any of this information will help someone.
