Question about IBS ...

I have had IBS for years but haven't really dealt with much of the symptoms until these last few days. My guess is, I have added dairy (which I don't usually eat) into my diet and it seems that may be the culprit into the pain I am having. My pain is mostly on my left side. I have had low back pain for years so I can't tell any difference between the annular tears and degenerative disc and IBS. When I have to urinate, I feel like I have trapped gas bubbles on that side...does that sound typical of IBS? I do seem to urinate more but then that could be the water that I sip on all day long. I do feel like I need to have a BM, but just don't sometimes. When I bend over to pick something up, I feel the pain in the lower left side around the pubic bone area or so....Is that IBS or more likely from back pain or trapped gas? This is aweful. I quit eating the cheese, yogurt and potato soup because it all has dairy. I've never been lactose intolerant, but I have pretty much stayed away from dairy. We drink almond milk. So I'm wondering if the dairy started all of this. I have been under stress as well. Is it typical for IBS to switch sides so to speak?

Re: Question about IBS...

I just responded to your other post, but no, this is not typical of IBS.

Please go see a GI doctor...there is help available, but you have to know what you are dealing with and this does not sound like IBS.

maybe a kidney stone then. I have a history of those. I have had 3 or 4 am Bm's today but it sure feels like trapped gas or something. Menopause has magnified things. The low back pain, I have had for years, it just seems worse with tummy tenderness.
