What to take for constipation ...

I would like to know what is best both over the counter and natural that I can take for constipation? I'm learning that my digestion has slowed down and I can not eat the typical fruits/veggies due to IBS.

Re: What to take for constipation...

There are many different types of constipation and each type requires different ways to help things along.

You can increase your fiber to help get regular...you can take castor oil as a laxative to help get it out easier...you can take all natural over the counter laxatives in a pill- but the best thing to do is talk to a GI doctor.

Do you know you have IBS? Has this been dx? If so, please talk to your doctor because many over the counter remedies are going to mess you up worse- you will probably need a prescription strength med from your doctor...

IBS mimics about 20 other diseases including Chron's and gallbladder issues...if you havent been properly dx, please see a GI doctor.

Talk to your GI doctor....there are quite a few medications on the market which were not on the market years ago to help with symptoms.
