    Unhappy What next with IBS

I am a 77 year old female who has suffered for about 40 years with IBS, changing from C to D. I blame having my gall bladder removed as the start. I would get periods where I was okay than go from C or D. About 8 years ago I had a bladder and rectal prolapse repair and since than my IBS has gotten worse. I take Metamucil every night but was getting D at least 2 bouts a month now I am getting it two days out of every week.

The strange part is the last time I go it is just small formed pieces and always by lunch time I am fine. I never have a normal BM and pass a lot of mucous at times but have a lot of sinus drainage.

I had a incomplete colonostopy done followed by a incomplete Barium enema. The Dr. would not believe I had spasms at the time from IBS.A year ago I had a C-scan done all that was seen was diverticulous, which I had for years with no inflammation.

I am curious to see if others have the IBS basically in the AM and have seen changes with aging. I get a lot of bloating and gas but that does not leave after the the toilet episodes or the feeling of having to go. The frequency of D has me concerned I find no foods that are causing it, I can eat something one day no problem eat it a week later and D. So I am not blaming food.
