    Another IBS question

I have dealt with IBS for years and for the most part, I usually have hard stools about every other day or two. Right now, I think I have a UTI (have a Dr appt) and I started eating healthier (veggies, beans, stuff I haven't eaten in awhile) and now so far, I have had 4 soft bowel movements today and feel like I am not done with it. So, my question is, does anyone experience multiple Bowel movements in a day's time? I did eat BBQ chicken today and have had chocolate off and on today. I am a junk food junkie for the most part but I didn't know if a UTI can cause more BM's or not. I have been under stress and anxiety comes and goes and because of a foot issue, I haven't been able to work out and I seem to feel "bored" a lot. Ugh! I just want to get my tummy troubles or whatever is causing these bathroom trips under control! Please tell me there are others out there that have multiple BM's in a day sometimes with IBS!

I don't eat any fast foods, I'm a health-food junky. About 99.5% of my diet consists of natural whole foods like fresh fruit, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, some seeds, lemon juice and olive oil. The only animal protein is when I open a can of sardines. There are usually five large sardines and I will just eat one per day like a supplement.

So how does all of that affect my bowels? I have never had IBS but because of the large amount of fiber I consume, I will have at least 2 bowel movements per day and sometimes 3. The stools are very large and soft. This is normal. No hemorrhoids!

But here's something for you to consider. You don't want to lurch into a high fiber diet because your system may need some time to adjust to it. So switch over gradually. And, of course, it might depend on what you're eating. For example, I never eat boxed cereals like 100% bran etc. I eat organic steel-cut oats in the morning and one slice of Ezekiel bread with my lunch. Also, organic pearled barley with my evening meal. None of these have any additives. You need to be careful and read labels.

My downfall is chocolate and pizza. I like to eat organic for sure but when I fix my organic veggies or fruit smoothies, it seems like it goes right through me which isn't a bad thing because otherwise, I can get constipated so really it's one extreme or the other. 🙄
I do take vitamin and supplements (whole food or organic) but the sweets and pizza are my comfort foods.😝

Just a brief word about chocolate: I like chocolate too but I don't like chocolate bars that contain milk and sugar. So I buy the chocolate bars they sell for baking. They are organic and 100% cacao.

But I don't do any baking, I just have a small piece occasionally and I enjoy it.
