    Well it really depends, only the doctors can tell you that. Kidney failure does most times mean they are both going. For instance, my dad is functioning at 50% right now, he will need a kidney transplant in about 10 years. If only one is failing then its most likely because of a disease that has gotten to that one kidney but for the most part they go together. Only you doctor can tell you if its one or both. But if it was only one they probably would have mentioned it. like oh hey your LEFT kidney is failing.. you know? saying oh hey you have kidney failure is most likely meaning they are both failing
