I always have kidney stones on both sides and my Urologist told me that when I travel, to always go someplace that has a hospital; in other words, don't go on an African Safari. I went 10 years at some point with many stones and no problems from them. I know it's scary to make any plans when you know you have stones, but try not to worry. I'm so used to having them that I just tell myself to go to the ER if necessary. My Urologist has me get a KUB xray twice a year to see how my stones are doing. Hope everything works out for you.
