Some advice?

My boyfriend came home from work complaining about a pain in his back again today. He pretty much described flank pain in his right side.

This isn't the first time he's described this. He's had something like this for the past few years. But he takes a cranberry supplement and he says taking that has made the pain go away. He ran out of pills last week and that's when he said the pain flared up again.

Today it was on his right side but he said its been in both his sides. He doesn't have any pain with going to the bathroom, or any other symptoms, just the pain. He drinks a lot of water. Though he does drink a lot of soda too.

I've been thinking he might be having kidney stone formations or movement even? I don't know. He won't go see the doctor unless its REALLY bad. Typical guy.

Anyone else ever have anything like this? Any advice would be helpful.

Re: Some advice?

Im a girl.. so its a little different but flank pain, is a symptom of kidney stones.. why is he on medicine, was it for pain? Has he ever had a kidney stone before? And any sign of pain is a red flag telling you HEY! Somethings wrong .. rather it be large or small... usually nothing helps a kidney stone besides plenty of fluids... cranberry juice doesnt really have anything to do with it... unless maybe he has an infection in is kidney or bladder? Which could cause a kidney stone.........? Good luck
